Virtual Machine Monitoring

Many IT organizations are implementing server consolidation through the use of VMware ESX Server. With the deployment of these servers into production there is a challenge to implement an effective monitoring solution that is integrated with the organization's existing BMC PATROL infrastructure. Integra Networks is able to deliver tested solutions that untangle your management clutter.

Have you ever found that you're most troublesome system is idle, or behaves perfectly, when you call in the consultants and performance gurus? Then, when you collect data that shows the problem, the guru wants some extra data that you didn't bother to collect.

To meet this challenge, Integra Networks is working with ClearCentral Software who has released the VMware Knowledge Module for PATROL.

The module monitors multiple VMware servers from a single PATROL agent. The agent runs the VMware Knowledge Module for PATROL. Each monitored VMware server runs a lightweight ClearAgent in the Linux VMware Service Console. 

The module monitors processor, memory, disk and network utilization for:

     bullet Each virtual machine
     bullet Service Console
     bullet Server as a whole.

VMware's VirtualCenter is a tool that performs provisioning, resource allocation and monitoring. The tool is ideal for engineers when they are building and configuring the VMware infrastructure.

The VMware Knowledge Module provides real-time, in-depth monitoring of the VMware servers once deployed into production. 

The VMware servers are visible on the PATROL consoles used by engineers, operations and support. 

Alerts on parameters are automatically integrated into the existing PATROL event management infrastructure. There is no need for additional consoles or additional alert integration.
